The adjustment is done in two parts. First you have to adjust the top of the table, and later on you can adjust the legs of the table. 

Measure the top:

Measure the top of the coffee table. Find the difference of the desired measurement. 

Adjust the height:

Get a glass topper as thick as the desired measurement. Place it on the top of the table to adjust the height. 

Place small rubber:

Small rubber under the glass is necessary, to prevent the glass from breaking. 

Adjust the leg:

To adjust the leg, you will have to turn the table over. Drill 1 inch holes straight into each of the legs of the table.

Cut a dowel:

For the pegs, cut a dowel into the adjusting size.

Apply glue:

At the end of the pegs, apply some carpenters glue and insert them into the hole of the leg. 

Measure the depth:

With wooden balls, measure the depth of the interior hole.

Cut the dowel peg:

Cut the dowel peg into the size of the leg. 

Test the wooden ball:

Test if the wooden ball is durable. Paint the leg and wipe off the excess glue. Turn the table over and enjoy your newly adjusted coffee table.
